CRYSTAL MATRIX: 31 Dezembro 2009- TRANCE ODISSEY NYE PARTY
Hoffman P. replied to CRYSTAL MATRIX's topic in Dezembro
Rasta Luego!!!

INFORMAÇÕES IMPORTANTES A TER EM CONTA PARA QUEM VEM AO FESTIVAL: Visas are required by most nationalities and cost US$ 30-60 (20-40 Euro) depending on your nationality. it is currently £38 for a single entry tourist visa from the UK and US$ 50 (35 Euro) from Greece, even less for South Africans. You are advised to obtain one before travelling by applying at least a month ahead to your local embassy. Some embassies have an online application form like UK, France and Germany. If there is no embassy or consulate in your country, or if it is last minute, you can always buy a single-entry visa with USD or EURO cash on arrival at the international airport. If your visa cost 50 dollars, have a 50 dollar bill otherwise they will charge you 50 Euro, no change will be given! You can get a visa on arrival at the airport or at any entry point into Tanzania such as at Dar-es-salaam International Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport, Zanzibar International Airport, Namanga (Tanzania - Kenya Border Post to the North), Tunduma (Tanzania - Malawi Border post to the South), Taveta and Holili (Tanzania - Kenya Border post to the North East) According to all literature, tourist visas last 3 months. You must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months after your departure date. Tanzania does permit visa free travel for a period of up to three months to some foreign nationals, mainly those from African and Asian countries however in most cases, with the exceptions of Kenya and Uganda, these visitors will still need to obtain entry permit clearance. A Global Visas immigration will be able to advice you of the exact visa requirements for citizens of your country of residence travelling to Tanzania. Dinheiro: The Tanzanian currency is the shilling (Tsh), though US dollars and Euro are accepted in all tourist establishments and elsewhere. In 2009 the conversion rate is a handy 1 Euro = 2000 Tsh (actually it is about 1900, but most people round up for convenience). Convert half of your euros/dollars into shillings, for use in the remoter places, and keep exchange receipts in case you needed to change any of it back into hard currency. The most important thing is to take enough cash or travellers cheques, as many places will NOT accept payment by credit card (and, if they do, will charge a supplement, typically 10%). If you are carrying lots of cash, divide it up and keep it in safe places which you will remember (money belt / inside pocket of suitcase / in a shoe / etc). If you are wary about carrying cash, try and prepay as much as possible before leaving or at the time of your arrival. Please also note that you may have difficulties paying with old US dollar notes (notes older than 2000). It is best not to travel with the euro/dollar notes with smaller heads. Euro is accepted everywhere. In the festival we will accept Euro and US dollars, no need to exchange your money in Tanzanian shilings! All pricing will be in Euro! No Credit Cards will be accepted in the festival area! COMO VIAJAR ATÉ AO FESTIVAL: WORLD to TANZANIA Route Not the only, but the best way to arrive to Tanzania is by Air. Many airlines flying over to Dar es Salaam International Airport (DAR) which is 13km southwest of the city. Tanzania has more International Airports but DAR is the one for us! There are almost daily flights from all over the world to Dar es Salaam. If you are flying from Europe, we suggest you to fly via Cairo with Egypt Air and via Doha with Qatar Airways and Emirates. Egypt Air is operating in almost every country in Europe. Also major airlines fly very cheap to London where you can always catch many and cheap flights to Tanzania. Many airlines fly reasonably cheap to Cairo too, where you can always catch very cheap flights to Tanzania. If you are coming from South Africa, we suggest South African Airlines, operating from Cape Town and Johannesburg. Always check the page “Travel Packages” for our offers. We are on the proccess for exclusive deals with Egypt Air, Ethiopean Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates and South African Airlines to secure and pre book some of the cheapest flights available from Europe and South Africa (flying to Tanzania). Note that we will NOT offer more than 1000 flights! The following airlines have many flights to Tanzania: Egypt Air, Emirates, British Airways, KLM, Qatar Airways, Swiss, Ethiopean Airlines, Lufthansa, Air France, Kenyan Airways, South African Airlines. DAR ES SALAAM to MAFIA ISLAND Route Once you land in Tanzania - Dar es Salaam, then you have two options to arrive to Mafia island: By Air, with many local airlines, approx price 100 euro, per person, with return and flying time 20 min, many daily flights. For airlines, routes and timetables check the page “Book Your Domestic Flights”. By Boat, with our Mafia Dance Festival Boat from the port of Dar, approx price 80 euro with return and travel time about 3 hours. At the moment there are very few boat connections but plenty of flights going to Mafia island, mainly with small aircrafts. We have come to an agreement with a boat company that will transfer you from Dar es Salaam to Mafia island and return, in 300 and 500 capacity boats. Those boat tickets will be sold only to presale ticket holders and exclusively through our website. For routes and timetables check the page “Book Domestic Boat Tickets”. When you land in Dar es Salaam International Airport, go direct to the Mafia Dance Festival Info Spot, were our hosts will guide you and our buses will transport you to the local airport or port for your direct trip to Mafia island! ATTENTION: If you arrive in Tanzania, with any other way than airplane, go to check yourself in the International Airport too, otherwise you cant enter the festival!!! Our Info Desk there will operate as the Main Gate of the Festival!!! SAÚDE: The major health problems of Tanzania are HIV/AIDS and malaria. The leading cause of death in children who survive the neonatal period is malaria. For adults, it is HIV/AIDS. These two major health problems are connected directly to poverty. Malaria can be prevented by the use of treated mosquito-nets and HIV with education and the use of condoms, but not all Tanzanians have these. Malaria is a potentially (though rarely) fatal disease but it gets fatal cause of the deep poverty of the African continent. Unfortunately, when people get sick, and even though there are quite enough hospitals in Tanzania, most of them dont even have transportation to arrive on time or dont have money to get drugs and health services. These two factors increase the health problems and deaths, in great numbers. Seek of official health advise for travellers going from the Europe, South Africa, Asia, Latin America, USA/Canada is recommended. Malaria is a potentially (though rarely) fatal disease transmitted by infected mosquitoes in tropical and subtropical parts of the world. Unfortunately that includes Tanzania. Preventing Malaria and mosquito bites, as far as possible, by using DEET-based repellent, wearing long sleeves, and sleeping under an intact mosquito net. Malaria Mosquitoes bite at night, so you should take most precautions during this time. Light colours are less attractive to mosquitoes. Long trousers, long-sleeved clothing thick enough to stop the mosquitoes biting will also protect you. Mosquito repellent containing diethyl toluamide (DEET) is recommended as the most effective form of bite-preventive treatment. It has an excellent safety profile in adults, children and pregnant women. There will always be people who dislike DEET, and for them there are other products – such as non-DEET Jungle Formual, Bayrepel or Mosiguard (made from eucalyptus oil). Even though it is highly recommended worldwide from doctors, we do not advise to take anti-malarial medication, due to the unpleasant side effects and the norm, that these prescriptions wont cover you 100% from the mosquito bites and malaria. In addition, other personal protective measures, such as the use of insect repellents, tents/beds with mosquito nets, help to reduce malaria risk. Of course, we are not doctors, but travellers, so this decision is entirely yours. We just express our experience with Tanzania! 1 out of 1.000.000 mosquito has malaria, but most Africans sleep almost in "outdoor" houses! The truth is, that if non Africans get malaria, they get very sick for 2 weeks and then with the right medication, they are healthy again. Africans do die from it, due to poverty!! If you try any kind of drugs for malaria, do that before you leave and see how you react!! We suggest about 4 weeks before departure, in case you need to go on to something else! Visitors should consult their physicians before traveling to learn about prophylaxis and the possible side effects of various available medications!! Advice about recommended drugs changes from country to country and year to year, so you should check with your doctor for the latest. For example, in the UK, doctors currently recommend the once-weekly lariam for most travellers, but this may have unpleasant side effects including depression and hallucination. The chloroquine / paludrine daily / weekly combination is now considered fairly ineffective, but still prescribed for pregnant women, as other drugs may affect the foetus. The newest drug, malarone, appears to have fewest side effects while remaining effective, but is considerably more expensive. Most drugs should be taken for 4 weeks before, during your stay in Africa and 4 weeks after your return to a non-malarial zone! INJECTIONS: you should be up-to-date for: yellow fever (lasts 10 years) - you may be asked to show your certificate on arrival (remember that this becomes valid 2 weeks after the injection) hepatitis A (lasts 10 years) typhoid (lasts 10 years) polio (10-year booster) diphtheria and tetanus (10-year booster; recommended) Rabies - recommended for travelers spending a lot of time outdoors, for long-term travelers (Meningitis and hepatitis B are only recommended for rural or high risk areas) Food hygiene is an issue, and you should observe a few simple rules. Wash your hands before eating. Only Drink mineral water, never tap water. Check where your ice comes from, and whether your fruit juice is diluted. As for food, avoid salads (unless you are sure they have been washed in fresh or mineral water), reheated food and meat or fish that you suspect may be stale. The hotels and guesthouses do in theory observe these rules, but you should always play safe. GENERAL ADVICE Bring your insurance card, claim forms, and any other relevant insurance documents Pack a personal medical kit, customized for your trip Avoid contact with stray dogs and other animals If an animal bites or scratches you, clean the wound with large amounts of soap and water and contact local health authorities immediately Wear sun block regularly when needed Adequate measures to avoid mosquito bites, such as nets, creams, long sleeves clothes at night, are essential You should ensure you have your own medical kit to hold you over in case of an emergency. Condições do tempo: Tanzania has a tropical climate with hot temperatures and high humidity, especially nearer the coast. The higher you are - and much of the interior is at altitude - the lower the temperature, particularly at night. On the coast be prepared for showers at any time!! From June to September (dry season), the weather is less hot and less humid, but still warm. (30-32 degrees day time and 24-26 night time for Mafia island). Best time to visit. It's a good time for game viewing and ideal for walking safaris, as animals start to congregate around shrinking water sources. Temperatures become increasingly hot through October. From November to May (rainy season), things get increasingly wet and sticky, with April and May having the heaviest rainfall. This is the 'green season' with lush vegetation, full rivers and lakes, and abundant birdlife and wild flowers, as well as baby animals. Within this framework, different areas have different patterns. Whaleshark season is October to March. Bear in mind that ‘cool’ and ‘dry’ are relative terms – it rarely drops below 25 Celsius and 50% humidity! Whether you’re on safari or enjoying the tropical beaches, the temperatures are always welcoming and gentle.
