Benfica: um discurso que só ilude os adeptos

 

Os árbitros estão longe de ser o problema que afasta os «encarnados» dos títulos

As declarações de Jorge Jesus, treinador, e João Gabriel, diretor de comunicação, apresentadas em «A Bola» são duas peças que ajudam a compreender a fase que o Benfica atravessa.

 

Na primeira, em forma de entrevista, o treinador passa três mensagens: não vai para o F.C. Porto (sendo que o campeão nunca disse que o desejava), cometeu alguns lapsos (poucos, parece...) e não houvesse erros dos árbitros o Benfica teria festejado o título na Luz.

 

Na segunda, também em forma de entrevista, o diretor de comunicação preocupa-se em passar duas mensagens: os que gritam contra Vieira e Jesus estão a ser instrumentalizados (chega ao ponto de lembrar Vale e Azevedo, pobre dele, a viver dificuldades em Londres) e os árbitros deram o título ao F.C. Porto.

 

As duas peças utilizam a desculpa da arbitragem para justificar mais um título perdido para o F.C. Porto.

 

Este argumento é tão velho como os campeonatos. E por ser tão velho, estaria gasto não fosse dar-se o caso de haver adeptos que gostam de discutir futebol a partir dos equívocos de quem apita. Ou seja, este discurso, em parte, funciona.

 

Apesar de, na verdade, o Benfica não ter razão.

 

Os árbitros são, em grande parte, os mesmos da época em que o Benfica foi campeão, um detalhe. E nessa altura não pareciam assim tão incompetentes. Mas isso nem é o mais relevante.

 

Uma década depois, o líder do Benfica festejou apenas dois títulos. O que faz de Luís Filipe Vieira um espectador bastante frequente do sucesso alheio. A acreditar na tese, o presidente dos «encarnados» deveria ter lugar no guiness como o dirigente desportivo mais prejudicado pela arbitragem. Provavelmente a par de alguém do Sporting.

 

Mas o Benfica não perde mais do que o F.C. Porto por causa dos árbitros. Acontece que tem sido menos capaz, vista a coisa de diferentes ângulos. Tem escolhido quase sempre pior, de treinadores a jogadores. É a história e a história não se reescreve.

 

Este discurso dos responsáveis do Benfica parece bastante agressivo e destinado a marcar uma posição sólida, de clube grande que de facto é. Mas na prática nada sucede. Como em todo os defesos, o Benfica irá de férias sem que lhe seja conhecida uma ideia de fundo para o futebol português, algo que ajude a melhorar. E regressará, como sempre, eufórico com o título de campeão do mercado.

 

Na verdade, este discurso não procura marcar pontos junto dos árbitros, de quem os nomeia ou sequer da Liga ou da Federação. Este é um tipo de conversa que aponta apenas numa direção: os sócios. Até pode funcionar, no sentido em que funcionar pode ser sinónimo de convencer.

 

No entanto, é evidente que não será com declarações num jornal que o Benfica alterará seja o que for. O problema do clube é de estrutura, de competência e de garra.

 

Basta olhar para os dois títulos que conquistou na última década. Eles foram obtidos palavra a palavra, treino a treino, conferência a conferência, jogada a jogada. Lances dentro e fora do relvado. Não foi bonito? Se bem me lembro, não. Mas o Benfica venceu.

 

No fundo, se me perguntarem, acho que os responsáveis do clube ficaram convencidos, algures a meio do caminho, de que, de alguma forma, a distância para o F.C. Porto estava anulada. E isso contribuiu, muito, para o desfecho dos dois últimos campeonatos.

 

É provável que as próximas declarações em forma de entrevista sejam de Luís Filipe Vieira. Outra vez a lembrar casos de arbitragem, outra vez a tocar na mesma mensagem, outra vez a falar para quem se revê neste discurso. E é também provável que isso seja suficiente para mais um início de temporada tranquilo e esperançoso. Se calhar até justo, se recordarmos o que era o Benfica de Vale e Azevedo. E até o de Damásio.

 

Para ganhar é que se torna necessário muito mais do que um ou dois títulos de jornal.

Concordo em muita coisa do está aqui escrito.

Na minha opinião, o problema do Benfica vem do topo da pirâmide, os árbitros apenas estão no fundo dela.

Infelizmente sempre houveram erros de arbitragem, fossem eles a favorecer o Benfica ou contra, mas se calhar o único que realmente me queixo, é o golo em fora de jogo do Maicon, que resulta de um lançe de bola parada. À parte disso, acho que o Benfica ainda tem que melhorar alguns aspectos antes de falar dos árbitros.

Tenho que ouvir como estão estes remixes, pois tem por aí umas faixas muito boas!

Infelizmente a arbitragem não esteve muito a nosso favor (mais uma vez), mas nós também não fizemos muito para merecer a vitória em casa do Sporting.

Valeu-nos o Artur, pois podiam ter sido mais uns quantos.
