    Free-Spirit Records is like a mango tree in peak season with ripe fruity goodness on every branch and luscious deliciousness in all that it produces. Take as an example their latest offering, the various artists release, Phosphenes, which is pure nectar of the gods. It is Volume 6 in their Free-Spirit Compilations series and brings a mix of offerings from those that you already know and those that you know now.Those you know include, straight out of Switzerland, Braincell kicking into gear from beat one, Ital, with some atmospheric acidity, M-Theory, who will lift you to a great height, drop you, and before you realise it take your even higher than before, whilst don your space suit to travel cosmos-bound fueled by Monastic Squid remixing Rinkadink. The newcomers include Shalys who’ll by tune end have you marching towards his destiny, Techyon exploring deep culture and Twelve Sessions with some undeniable dance floor irresistibility. It also features contributions from the low orbiting Crocodile Rangers, Holographic Brain, Omsphere and battling it out. Based in London, Free-Spirit Records is seemingly intent on bringing you all that is new, fresh and tasty from the psy-trancetastic universe. Compiled by label head amigo Jay OM, Phosphenes is just a further case in point that the orchard is well fertilised.

    Wildthings Records bring you Archaic’s eagerly anticipated second album “Sonic Driving”.

     

    Archaic’s music combines the mystical organic sounds of the natural world with the synthetic processed sounds of the digital world and this album takes you on that journey, a voyage full of hypnotic, shamanic atmospheres and effected modulating rhythms and up beat grooves.

     

    With “Sonic Driving”, he has created a harder hitting, more twilight feel to the album compared to his first release, Wildness, whilst still using many of the familiar techniques that made his music very popular amongst listeners. His ability of manipulating sound and composition has stemmed from his 10 years of music production and this style of sound that Archaic has created has been influenced from his love of nature and shamanism, and from his many years in the music industry, stemming back through his early years involved in the indie and Punk scene, through the Goa era, up to this present day. His music has evolved greatly through out his time in Wildthings and this has brought him ever increasing international success and acclaim in the underground scene.     San Francisco based producer, Frost Raven, is the solo project of Dustin Musser. His attention to detail in his production makes him stand out amidst the sea of mediocrity.     This Compilation was created for the benefit of the people who were affected by the tragedy of 311.

     

    On March 11th, 2011 the lives of many people in Japan were greatly affected by the wrath of an earthquake and a tsunami. Many lives changed drastically that day. It was without a doubt one of the most serious disasters ever to hit. When serious disasters like this happen, it is our duty as human beings to help each other out by any and all means necessary.

     

    This release is a joint effort between Grasshopper Records (Japan) and Catalyst Records (Mexico) to unite artists and friends from around the globe and create a compilation for the benefit of the people who were affected by this tragedy.
