New Message from Mike (MDF) About the Cancelation.... We are glad that our festivals supporters list is growing-growing and a global support for the Mafia situation is rising! We really cant express our feelings in writing, for the warm words and understanding that we receive from you every day! In deed, festivals gets cancelled every now and then, and this is causing major problems to travelers. Especially when the expectations are so high as it was with MDF, then the dissapointment is even higher and the problems seem unsolved! We understand! Through this process we have lost a great deal of money (over 150.000 Euro personal investment), time (1,5 year preproduction), effort (MDF members had to move to Tanzania to make it happen in a hard environment, leaving behind family, friends, jobs) and reputation (we know that some people are angry and suspicious with us now, but we are here to prove the opposite, not only with words but with work too!) ….in any case we promise, we will deliver as we have done in the past, when many of you were dancing with us in our previous organizations in Samothraki Island-Greece. When the accurate and fact information about the cancelation of our festival will be revealed, we hope that all of you, will completely understand what happened. Many of you, now, have wrong info or dissinformation about what really happened, because of a propaganda that has been circulated thru internet blogs against us and mostly from the people that were behind the cancelation. This created roumors worlwide about a non existance organisation or scam festival. Its not like that and all will be revealed soon. As stated from day 1 of the cancelation, we prepare a law suite and we have been advised to reserve some evidence for the courts but surely we will replace them with other evidence that will prove, that we are not Elephants! Mike made a detailed announcement already from July 10, posted in Facebook and on our official website since 8 September 2010. The next one, will include photos, videos, licences, documents, invoices, correspodent emails and other material that will show you, how we worked properly and well in advance for this organization (as we always do with every event we organize) and in deed, this event has been cancelled through no fault of our own and for reasons beyond our control. As soon as we present the details, you can decide on you own, but only after you have reviewed the evidence!! We were waiting for all our members to get out of Tanzania (that happened end of August 2010) and to decide on our next moves against these ill-willed groups which undermined and accused the organizing committee and the attendees of the Festival (this is YOU!), aiming at presenting to the authorities a false and completely misleading image of our Festival as a decadent and corrupted event and therefore to be cancelled by the government of Tanzania. It is hard for someone who is not professionally into music and festival business to understand some things, but we will be as detailed as possible, so you wil be able to see the big picture! So....as promised the official annoucement for the cancelation of the festival and remaining ticket refunds will follow shortly (sorry for delay but evidence are many and we try to make a presentable pdf). About the Ticket exchange/swapping... At the moment we have 14 International festivals and 7 South Africans festivals/events that have agreed to swap tickets with the Mafia Dance Festival ticket holders. We will release the South African events on Friday 15 October but please note that SA festivals/events that have been released in our first swap announcement for SA are still in the list! Combinations are possible! When you decide which 2010 or 2011 festival you want to attend, please email us and immidiately we will change your ticket to the requested festival. At the moment we have updated our list with 5 new festivals since our last announcement and more will also come!
