CARPE DIEM FESTIVAL MAIN FLOOR LIVE CONCERTS: WIRACOCHA_EQUADOR LIVES: NAKED TOURIST (PARVATI REC) Naked Tourist is the project of two sound freax who crashed together in 1999. Martin aka Z-Neo deals with PC, music and midi since 1992. His musical background is based in the Breakbeat-scene and after completing successfully his education in audio engineering at S.A.E. College FFM, Z-Neo decided to move to Berlin where he met Bjorn aka DJ Iguana who was dj´ing psychedelic music since 1999. The guys started to share an apartment and a promising music community: the first track was done and Iguana got the chance to play it on several parties. As the feedback from the audience and different record labels were throughout positive, they realised how big fun was to see the crowd enjoying their work so they decided to continue the story. They have got some tracks released on different labels and now their first album, MAD DIFFERENT METHODS, for Parvati Records. They played some nice Naked "live" experiences since summer 2004, as well bookings are already confirmed for 2006 ! Iguana's dj style fits to the Parvati-sound and his sets are always for the nightime floors. PRISM (TRICK MUSIC) UK_FR Prism is Arnaud levasseur aka 'Concept' and Ady Connor aka 'Scorb'. A new colaboration born 1 years ago. Some news release and a first album "Freedom 35" will be coming out during 2009 on Trick Music & others labels. CONCEPT (3D VISION) FR Concept is Dj Noon (Arnaud Levasseur), a french man that started his carreer in psy trance in 1994, on the island of Bali and since then he’s been playing in big festivals and parties all over the world. Producer for 7 years after a few releases he start his solo full on project call “CONCEPT” and release on divers compilation of different label as 3D Vision records, Timecode, Shiva Space Technology, Digital Psionics records and many more..... He also release his first album "Expérimental" on Fungi records in 2005 and his second album "Paranormal" on 3D Vision records in 2007. Concept music style his deffenetly a dark full on melodic building on fat rolling bass line. Today he also start a new project call “Prism” in colaboration with Scorb on Trick Music. SCORB (TRICK MUSIC) U.K Considered to be one of the most consistent and original artists on the psychedelic trance scene, Scorb aka Yod Onsen has been releasing music for over eight years. The eponymous debut album released on Ambivalent records in 2003 gained him international attention and a slew of releases on international labels have affirmed his position as a leading producer on the scene. Tight arrangements, infectious hooks and a phat low end typify the Scorb sound and the 2007 album "Ipso Fvcto" released on Trick music received rave reviews the world over. In addition to Scorb, Yod has a number of side projects; The bone crunching psy-tech of RAM with Lek Black (NRS), The dark progressive leanings of Squid Inc. with Deviant Species' Santos De Castro, pHibian; Yod's new hard techpsy project, Orzels Machine, a technobreakz outfit with Mike Rucinski and Prism with Arnaud Levasseur aka Concept! Things are looking tasty for 2009 with the releases of TRKCD002 "ABRA MACABRE", Orzels Machine releases and with Squid Inc and Prism Albums well on the way too! As if that weren't enough, Yod is also a graphic designer, performing art and design duties for a number of labels, Including Ambivalent, LPS (Last Possible Solution) and Trick. to the left is a selection of CD covers designed by Yod. ZARAUS (ONE_FOOT_GROOVE_REC) BR After getting musical experience on a Ska Band called Skambalhota where both Pedro Oliveira (Drums) and Sergio Loren (Vocalist) performed for 2 years. They decide to create something new using the new tools provided to them by technology. So in 1999 Zaraus was created. In the beginning it was a two man creation, but since 2001 Pedro Oliveira as assumed controls and delivered new horizons to this promising project. Joining Sub-Atomic in England has a major step in that direction, earning him performances in countries like, France (Anthares R.I.P, Magic Mystery, Neotek Spirits), England (666, Ilumenaughty, D.m.t ) , Scotland (Sub-Atomic), Amsterdam, Spain (Changeling Festival). That led to the some of the world’s biggest events like 4 editions of Universo Paralello, Transformation, Psycake, Groove4nation, Sinergia Festival 2007 e Boom Festival 2008. In 2009 Zaraus joined One Foot Groove Records from South Africa. His first album is scheduled to be released on the 13th of June... Tours in Portugal (June and end of August), Brazil (July to mid August) and at the end of the year South Africa and Mexico follow the album launch!! One of the most travelled and experienced producers on the Portuguese trance scene. ZARTROX (CARPE_DIEM.ORG/DEAD TREE PROD) BR Zartrox is formed by Tiago B. Jammal and Adriano M. Campos. These two insane minds met each other in childhood when living in Belo Horizonte, but as time went by they lost contact. They met again in the late 90’s at the same time they started to attend electronic music parties on that city. In the year 2000, when Trance became more popular in Belo Horizonte, they knew the style and became enthusiastics with psychedelic electronic music. Searching for fresh and new air, the duo moved to Santa Catarina, on the south of the country. They met people and got involved on the souther scene, where they worked for a long time with party scenography. They had the first contact with production in 2004 and since then the work process was in slow motion due to financial problems, making it difficult to buy equipment and attend to production’s classes. The solution they found was simple, they became autodidacts. In the end of 2006 emerge Zartrox. A dark, weird and minimalistic Psytrance project with influences of projects like: The Delta, Spirialienz, Midi Miliz, X-Dream, Reefer Decree, Krumelur, Sensient, Comadose, Noktamid, Pondscum, Parasense, Crying Orc, Zik, Matutero, Minimal Criminal, A.K.D., Haldolliun, Psynatorium and many others. A fusion between Dark Psychedelic and Minimal Progressive, that turns the sound really surprising and outstanding. With fat basslines, hard kicks, chaotic melodies and weird synths, they make a perfect combination for an extremely confused and psychedelic night. Their first release is in the compilation “The Black Sun”, by Dead Tree Productions. The first contact was with classical music, but it would be the power of electronic music that would influence his artistic culture at psychedelic parties. Discovering trance lead Tryambaka to producing intense sounds marked by a nocturnal and unique style. Since then the challenge is at his finger tips, adopting one of the many names given to the Hindu god Shiva meaning the one who sees thru the third eye, a vision that promotes union such as the music he represents. RAWAR (LYCAN_TROP_REC/2TO6_REC/WILDSEVEN) PT Helder Amaral aka RAWAR , have born at Oporto city Portugal in 1978 . He have contact since early days at the age of 16 he starts to work at a local club as a dj , at the age of 18 Helder goes to the roads of the heavy metal music due to the power and intense feelins that the sounds created on him , one year later he leads his own band as a vocals . But at the age of 20 he starts to enjoy dark ambiance and more atmosferic sounds and decides to creat his own project ,starting producing darkambience. Then in 2004 after a few partys with friends on the psy scene Helder gets to now the psyence records crew and gets to be a close brother of Philipe Martins (agressive mood ) and togheter they decide to join forces and start their psytrance act togheter . One year later Helder decides that hes gona start his own project and start producing under the name of Dominus later changing for good to RAWAR . Since then Rawar have been playing around the world puting his music and vibes on diferent dance floors. Count with power groove music fullfilled with psychedelic elements and a power bassline. KHOPAT (SPECTRAL_REC) PT Khopat is Vasco Pedrosa from Portugal. Vasco discovered Psytrance music in 1999 during his quest through electronic music. Since then and based on a previous musical education background he decided to create his own psytrance project. Khopat's music concept relies on a very strong rhythm base mixed with all kind of psychedelic sounds. His music tries to lead the listeners to diverse cosmic environments,always allied with strong dance concept ... in other words , music for mind and body. Khopat is part of spectral records,his debut album should be expect in the beggining of 2008 by Portuguese Label Spectral Records. TRYON (HYPERGATE_REC) PT Tryon is Telmo Pereira from Portugal. In the middle of 2000, he had his 1st contact with Psytrance Culture and started to make his first experiments with electronic music, after playing guitars and working with groove-box in 2006 he start his own project under the name Tryon. nowdays he is one of the founders of Hypergate.rec with his friend Sidhartha. His sound is characterized by intense power-full kicks and bass-lines, mixed up with hypnotic multi-layered leads and the way thought most of the track. The result is a strongly build up track with a deep powerful rhythm section and an extravagent composition of the tracks itself, which proof and show the results of a proper musical education. His music is unique where only a few other big names like Absolum (3D Vision) and Concept (3DV/Mind Funk) come to mind. Tryon beliefs psychedelic trance music is above all a spiritual medium through which he tries to bring a message. Most of his tracks are all built around the theme of the Cyclic Time Castles of the Mayan Calendar. Those harmonic and often geometric patterns are synchronized with the body and can open the mind to new realities and dimensions. The final goal is to alter the D.N.A. structure through experiencing sounds and shifting a major inner transformation....that is what Tryon stands for and delivers! HAXIRAI (AKA_CLOCKWISE) (SWING_MUSIC_AGENCY/PSY-FI_REC) PT Haxirai is a Portuguese solo project created by Pedro Rosário.,who started to play piano at the age of 8, moving on to drums at 13 and refusing to stop. Pedro gained musical experience by involving himself with various projects and albums with acts such as Lovdxit (hardcore band), Hijack (reggae/ska) and Tara Perdida (punk rock). It was in 2000, after attending that year's Boom Festival, that Pedro decided to try his hand at producing trance music, joining efforts with Paulo Santos in 2001 - creating Clockwise - one of Portugals first trance projects. After producing music for six years, Pedro decided to embark on another musical journey, merging his past experience as a drummer with his more recent skill-set of electronic music production, and Haxirai was born. Having performed in various countries like Brazil (Universo Paralello, Groove4Nation, Tripping, etc.), Portugal (Crystal Matrix, Good Trance) and Spain (Psyseed), he has received great reviews on both his music and his live performances (take a look at the linked videos to get an idea). Joining One Foot Groove Europe in 2009, Haxirai's debut album is scheduled for release in November of this year. MYRAH (NAMAHA_REC/PSYART/HYPERGATE_REC/SWING) PT Tiago Mira aka Myrah was born in 1983 in Lisbon, Portugal, and began his music adventure ate the age of 15, mixing Hip Hop and Techno with vinyl, and playing in small parties. Few years later Tiago goes to his first trance party and immediately fell in love with the music..s sounds, melodies and all the feeling that it creates. Soon after that, tired of mixing other people..s music and desiring to do more than mixing, Tiago begins to get curious about sound production and gives his first steps in it in 2003. Later, he decides to attend a two years Sound Technician Course. During that time he started to improve and better understand how to create music. Tiago played his first live act in the beginning of 2006 and since then he has been playing very frequently in a lot of parties and has become a reference in the Portuguese trance scene. Myrah has two other music projects, one named Orianis (psychedelic night full on) and a chill out project, also named Myrah! KONNEKTOR (BLISSFUL) PT In the beginning of 2008 Shakri release his third project, KONNEKTOR. It’s a Full on Night Project, similar to the South African Full on projects. Is experience doing music make this project almost perfect, fast and groovy music for the night time, twisted sinths. SUSHUPTI (URBAN_ANTIDOTE) PT I'm Helder Coutinho Aka Sushupti born 28 may of 82 in portugal , very soon i went to live in switzerland , where i got my first experiences with music , learning it at the school and messing with the old keyboard from my brother . Then i came back to portugal with 11 years old. I had many influences thrue all this years and allways in some kind of metamorphosis of tastes i liked completly diferent styles of music , after in 2000 i discovered the psy movement , i was very curious about this new kind of technology and futuristic frequencies , so in 2001 i decided to learn more about this kind of music and tryed some audio softwares like fruity loops and Storm . In 2003 i went again to switzerland , where i worked to get some money and decided to buy reason 2.5, computer and synth korg prophecy to explore and understand better this electronic frequencies. I decided to create the project Sushupti in 2005 when i came back to portugal , at this time i had the chance to meet good friends , who teached me more few technical steps for production and finaly in 2006 i bought some more professional materials and started to explore cubase sx wich i'm completly satisfied with . Sushupti project is defined as heavy ambiences , hi-tech , noise , dance and most of all psychedelic....it's all my feelings and influences mixed together. music is my way to express them. SINFUL REACTIONS (NOIZE CONSPIRACY/CARPE_DIEM.ORG) PT Sinful Reactions are Orlando and Luis Pereira, are two brothers born at 27 April 1980 and 1982 and they are from Portugal.?Orlando and Luis discoverd the trance music in 2000 and they fall in love with the sound. They started playing dj sets in a few private parties, with some friends, in Portugal. But that was not enough and Luis aka Sinful started making his own tunes in 2005, in 2006 with his brother Orlando they create a new project under the name Sinful Reactions. Sinful Reaction..s music is a mix of dark and full on with pumping basslines sharp kick, and hi-tech crazy leads.?They are working hard to cause great and powerfull impact in the dance floors. IGNITION (HYPERGATE_REC/MATERIA_REC) PT Ignition is the project of two brothers from Portugal, Daniel aka Ypnox and João aka Zinx. This project rise up in 2005, after the development of each one skills in their own projects. Their objective is to create a new style of agressive full on, with frenetic basslines and destructive leads, exploring deep and heavy sounds. With bpm's ranging from 147 to 149, Ignition wants to give you maximum experience on the dancefloor, giving you reasons to dance, smile and enjoy they're music. KLACID (CAFFIX REC) PT Ivo Heleno AKA Klacid, was born in 1978 in the city of Coimbra and currently resides in Mirandela. Since very young, he has shown a deep interest in everything involving the music world. In 1994 has its first contact with electronic music dj as a bar, where it remained for 8 years. But it is in 2002 that finds its musical genre and is fascinated by the hypnotic sounds of trance. During 3 years is dedicated to the djing, but his passion for trance and the need to achieve new objectives will take him to produce its own sound. He began in Fruit loops, Logic Platinum and now he uses an more professioinal program, Nuendo.Their music is melodic, with warm bass line, energetic kicks fun effects and contagious happiness. It is influenced by a numberof big name artists in the world of psychedelic trance as Eskimo, , Azax Syndrom, Outer Signal, Bliss, Painkiller,etc..but always keeping an own style and original. Klacid gives us a new vision,more futuristic andmore joyful of trance music. At the year 2000 discover psytrance. Starting to play in partys at 14 years old...
