OFF THE WALL – A TRIBUTE TO PINK FLOYD | 3 DE MARÇO PAVILHÃO ATLÂNTICO No dia 3 de Março, o Pavilhão Atlântico recebe “Off The Wall – A Tribute to Pink Floyd” onde serão revisitados os clássicos dos Pink Floyd, num concerto que tem arrebatado plateias um pouco por todo o Mundo. Para além da mestria dos músicos que integram a banda (que foram elogiados pelos próprios Pink Floyd), o espectáculo impressiona pela qualidade dos cenários, desenho de luz e projecções. Mais que um simples tributo, “Off The Wall” assume-se como uma réplica dos espectáculos dos Pink Floyd. “Off The Wall” – A Tribute to Pink Floyd” foi criado em 2001 por Paul Barker (baixo) e Fluff (guitarra), músicos que partilhavam a paixão pelos Floyd desde a adolescência. Com Kevin Fitzpatrick nas vozes e teclas, Stella Fairhead nas vozes e guitarra e Chris Bold na bateria, estava encontrado o leque de músicos ideal para Off The Wall – cuja tarefa ciclópica é homenagear uma das bandas mais geniais de todos os tempos: os Pink Floyd. O primeiro concerto dos Off The Wall decorreu num pequeno pub em Bradford. Apesar de algumas arestas por limar, a reacção do público e em especial do proprietário do pub fizeram a banda acreditar que estavam no caminho certo. Paul assumiu a posição de manager da banda, mas após várias reuniões com promotores, sem resultados, decidiu arriscar ao marcar um concerto no Halifax Piece Hall, um local ao ar livre com capacidade para cinco mil pessoas. O risco compensou e o concerto foi um enorme sucesso. Até os fãs mais cépticos dos Pink Floyd saem rendidos de “Off The Wall – A Tribute to Pink Floyd”.
