  5. Asura's Lost Eden is more like paradise regained. It stands as one of the year's best chillout album. The first sounds on the album immediately transport you into another world. It's as if you are embarking on a journey. The first track, also the title track, “Lost Eden” sets the atmosphere for what you will be listening to in the next hour including incredible vocal samples from all over the world mixed with mellow electronic beats and gorgeous synth sounds. The next two tracks, “From The Abyss” and “Raindust,” pull you further along into this musical journey, but it's “Land & Freedom” that is the heart of the album. This track slowly builds out of nowhere. It starts with ambient wind-like sounds and then a subtle flute floats along the breeze to usher in the percussion, nice samples and quiet vocals. “Fahrenheit” follows up with some guitar sounds reminiscent of Spain before it reaches its full stride complete with pulsing drumbeats. At the exact halfway point in the album is “Requiem From Nowhere,” a 10-minute epic of sparse sounds and creative rhythms that lull you into relaxation. The last track on the album, “Le Vol D'Icare” is the perfect end to this album. Its lush, upbeat and sprinkled with melodies. While still a totally chilled, the track has enough energy to leave you feeling revitalized. It would be easy to compare Asura to Enigma, Peter Gabriel or Afro Celt Sound System, but any comparison is going to have shortcomings. The fact is, Asura have a unique voice that brilliantly shines through on this album. http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=4522

  7. The Psy-Trance-Band “Klopfgeister” (English free translation: knocking spirits) was founded in the year 2001 by Thorsten Paul and Jens Schefzig. For the “live-gigs” throughout Germany they were joined by Moritz Eßinger (keybords), Christian Moses (guitar, vocals) and Katrin Hennig (violin). These members came from a rock band, what caused some hardrock-influence in the live-perfomance. So it was a little surprise when we listened to their studio-productions, just done by Jens and Thorsten. It was a very smooth progressive Psy-Trance and even there were some ambient sounds. We liked this stuff so much, that we decided to produce a CD, although it was clear, that this would be a break in our label-tradition, famous by “full-on”-Trance. To keep customers informed, from now on our label-logo varies in colour: blue = “progressive”, green =“full on” and red = “chill”. “Sweet Compromise” is the right title for the start in a new era of diversity. Hope you have some nice time with this wonderfull emotional sound. http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=4570

  23. Phutureprimitive is the refreshing musical creation of Oregon-based DJ/Producer, Rain. The Phutureprimitive sound is subterranean electronic tribalism, combining elements of organic downtempo, ethnic breaks, and sensual atmospherics. Ethereal vocals soar over dubbed-out basslines, and live percussion unfolds over odd time signatures creating a groove that is influenced by the synthetic textures of psychedelic trance as well as the kinetic grooves of world music. Rain developed a love for electronic music early on, and began to hone his DJ skills in 1992, inspired by the early trance and goa releases of labels like Eye Q, Dragonfly, and T.I.P. The psychedelic textures embedded in the music of this era continue to be an influence on his production and style. Not content to just spin music, Rain established the Phutureprimitive Sound Labs in 1996, and began to acquire the equipment and skills required to express himself musically. Expanding and enhancing the Phutureprimitive aesthetic, Leroy Espiricueta has joined Rain, bringing his talent as a musician and skills as a percussionist to the Labs. The haunting and sensual vocals of Alyssa Palmer also grace several songs on this album. The sonic primitives are working on music together, and exploring the creative process independently. Something deep and tribal has been growing in the Labs, unseen and unheard, until now. The first full-length experience from Phutureprimitive is entitled 'Sub Conscious' - welcome and right at home, at the headquarters of downtempo and ambient dub - Waveform Records. http://www.waveformhq.com/sub.html
